Karnataka is our home ground. LS Consultancy sits in Bangalore, which means most of the families we guide through NEET counselling here can walk into our office, put the scorecard on the table, and get a straight answer the same afternoon.

One thing worth saying up front, because it is the single most common mix-up we hear: COMEDK does not conduct medical admissions. A COMEDK rank gets you into engineering. For MBBS in Karnataka there are exactly two doors — the KEA state-quota route and MCC (All India Quota plus deemed universities) — and which one fits you depends on your domicile and your NEET rank, not on how many entrance exams you wrote.

Disclaimer: This page is published by LS Consultancy for admission-guidance purposes only. We are an independent consultancy and are not affiliated with, or the official representative of, any institution listed here. Seats, fees and cutoffs here are compiled from public sources and are indicative only. They are revised every counselling season, so treat this page as a starting point for a conversation and confirm the numbers with the college or the counselling authority before you commit money to a seat.

How a seat is actually allotted

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bengaluru

KEA runs the 85% state-quota counselling for government colleges and for the government share of seats in private medical colleges under the seat-sharing agreement. It publishes its own seat matrix, fee slabs and option-entry schedule, separate from MCC.

RouteWho allots it
State quota (85%)KEA, Bengaluru — online option entry, Karnataka domicile / eligibility clauses apply
All India Quota (15%)MCC, on NEET-UG merit — no domicile requirement
Deemed universitiesMCC deemed counselling — KMC Manipal, JSS Mysuru, Yenepoya, KS Hegde and others sit here, not with KEA
Management / NRICollege or university level, against the notified management and NRI slabs
Worth knowing

Karnataka has one of the widest gaps in the country between the KEA fee slab and the management slab inside the same college. The same MBBS seat can differ by several lakh a year depending on which counselling route filled it. Before anyone quotes you a number, ask which quota it belongs to.

The list

13 medical colleges in Karnataka

Every card carries what a family actually needs to compare: who runs the college, how many MBBS seats it has, what it indicatively costs and what the last NEET season looked like. This page covers the private and deemed colleges we track in Karnataka. Government college seats are allotted through the same counselling — ask us and we will map those against your score too.

Working with us

What LS Consultancy does for Karnataka admissions

You can sit across the table from us

We are a Bangalore firm, not a call centre. Bring the scorecard, the domicile papers and the family — most Karnataka cases get sorted in one sitting.

Score first, shortlist second

We map your NEET score against the previous KEA and MCC closing positions before we discuss any college, so the shortlist starts from what your rank can actually reach.

The Karnataka document checklist

Domicile, study certificates, Kannada-medium and Hyderabad-Karnataka clauses decide eligibility here more often than families expect. We check them before option entry, not after.

We do not block seats

We are an independent consultancy. We do not hold, trade or guarantee seats, and we will tell you when a college on your list is out of reach.

Questions we get from Karnataka families

Frequently asked questions

No. COMEDK conducts engineering admissions. Every MBBS and BDS seat in Karnataka is filled on NEET-UG merit, through KEA for the state quota and through MCC for the All India Quota and deemed universities.

For the KEA state-quota route you have to satisfy one of the eligibility clauses KEA notifies — domicile, years of study in Karnataka, parents’ domicile, and a few special categories. The 15% All India Quota through MCC has no domicile condition at all, which is often the better door for out-of-state students.

They are separate counsellings with separate registrations, separate fees and separate schedules. A deemed university seat at Manipal or JSS is allotted by MCC on NEET merit; a government or government-quota seat is allotted by KEA. You can register for both.

No. Deemed universities publish their fee for the year and MCC allots against it. What does change is the slab — merit, management and NRI seats in the same college carry very different numbers. Anyone offering you a discount on a deemed seat is not describing the official process.

It moves every year with the number of candidates and the seat matrix, and it differs by category and by round. We read your actual scorecard against the last few years of KEA closing positions rather than quoting a single number — a cutoff is a guide, never a promise.

Send us the scorecard. We will tell you what it can reach in Karnataka.

No charge for the first conversation, no seat-blocking, and no promises we cannot keep. Just a counsellor reading your actual NEET result against this year's counselling.
